Hi all,

Is anyone familiar with getting an item shipped from the UK to South Africa?
I have checked Aramex, and the pricing guide comes to ~R1200 for a small box.
Is this generally the price?

Any guidance would be appreciated.

Regards

Shipping from the UK is carzy expensive. I wanted to ship a parcel, +/- 1kg using Royal Mail, and
they quoted me R1500. I shipped a 3kg parcel from Spain using DHL, and it was R550.

Speak to Scott, Scotts shipping services.

hi there my sister stays in the Uk and normally shipping and sending parcels are abit of a problem depending which way you want to send i know the post office is useless cause that takes about 2-3 months to get to south africa but aparently DHL isnt to bad they are abit pricey but the parcel will be delivered quicker

I bought a router earlier this year and it cost me $32.97 for DHL Express shipping. Excluding import tax

Sign up with MyUS.com.

You now get both a US address and a UK address.

You can use any of the big shipping companies or the Post Office if you want to pay cheaper rates. You can also pay your customs duties with MyUS before the parcel ships.

Depending on the dimensions of the parcel and its weight, shipping with Fedex or DHL could easily cost you in the area of $35 and upwards. As far as I know, anything with a value of less than R500 you are excempt from Custom duties.
