Back tyre had unequal wear and was told its possibly the shocks. Had this test done and shocks were perfect. Had all 4 shocks replaced at Supaquick and they guy showed me when he pressed down on all of them, they just stayed down.
Dont think I would trust that machine unless its only accurate for Gabriel, I wouldnt know.

If you don't have confident in the equipment used go to another place ask them to nicely check your shocks for free. (Normally they will ask if your vehicle is under motorplan or replaced recently etc) just say no. I was quiet disappointed at the dealership where I service my vehicle under motorplan, decided to one day take my vehicle to check to see if the shocks are worn out to my surprise they were. Drove immediately to the dealership and moaned , took them over 5 days to return my vehicle. Break-pads worn out, disk plate, etc. It just came back from service 1month ago!

R28 grand they claimed from the motorplan.

Check wheel alignment, the toe/camber might be out.

On rear wheels, I don't think so unless the OP drives an all wheel drive vehicle, and he should have noticed that the car drift to one side when you let go of the steering wheel.

OP, when was the last time the tyres were balanced? It's possible that that could be the issue. (sometimes one of the weights comes off)

Another contributing factor to uneven tyre wear is running the tyres either too hard or too soft, ie more tyre wear in the middle - tyre pressure too hard, and more tyre wear on the sides - tyre pressure too low.

Tyre wear just on the inside or outside normally just occurs on front wheels where wheel alignment might be out.

Rear tyre wear on either the inside or outside could point to a more serious issue, again there are many factors to take into account that could cause the problem. Worn rear wheel bearings can make the rear wheel loose and influence tyre wear as well.

.

This is a fallacy that doesn't apply to modern tyres.

You can put 320kpa into your tyres and they won't run down in the middle or any different actually. If anything they will last slightly longer and cause less resistance on the road.

Mostly manufacturers recommend slightly slower tyre pressures due to comfort reasons and having the tyres do the work the suspension should be doing.

And this is more likely the reason people believe the pressure is the cause of tyre wear.

As for the OP your suspension could be just fine and your wheel alignment and/or balancing could have been the problem especially if it was done incorrectly.

Could very well have hit a pot hole or something as well causing a weak spot in the tyre.
