The tower I'd been connecting to, has been down from before the weekend. So, for the past few days I've been using an alternative tower which at certain times of the day become unusual but I was managing.

This morning that tower is down. I'm getting sick and tired of this crazy from Rain.

Vumatel has started to roll out fibre in my area but due to the Christmas break and the fact that they haven't trenched my road yet I don't think I'll be getting fibre until sometime in February.

So I need something to get me through the next couple months.

My usage averages 250gigs a month but that's because rains speeds are slow and I can't stream on higher quality.

Although is there a way to limit line speeds on 4G Router? Assuming there is a capped solution for my problem.

Sitting with quite a similar situation myself.

Rain's performance is horrid during daytime (lucky to hit 50kbps) yet at late night the speeds are usable (3Mbps).
Clearly the towers aren't working right or overloaded. Can't consider streaming anything decent.

Been looking at the offerings from Cell C and Afrihost but usage is also 200Gb+ (torrents, Youtube, etc.)
Fibre not an option yet - priming to move to Ballito in the new year (and will get fibre there).
