Short term DSTV contract?

I'd like to get DSTV for the duration of the Rugby World Cup only (although who knows, maybe I'll get hooked?) Is it possible to subscribe, if I get a second hand decoder, and then cancel after a month? What is the minimum period of the contract? Can the new Consumer Protection Act help?

Are there any other options?

Minimum period is 1 day....
So yes you can just activate it for the month and a bit, you will be charged pro-rata

Why not downgrade to Easy View after the World Cup. You get SABC, etv, SuperSport Blitz, Al Jazeera etc. Only R200 a year with a discount on the first year, IIRC R150.

Can recommend Easy View for R20 per month. No more strugling with bunny ears to get decent reception of SABC or ETV and you get a few xtra channels as well (even some radio / music channels as well). Bargain!
