How do I use shortcuts? It looks like it could be the only solution to the below :

On my Android, I was able to share direct from gallery into Snapseed for editing. On the iPhone it seems I have to open the app first and select the photo?

Yeah doesn’t seem like it supports the Share menu.

But what does it actually do? I downloaded it now but can’t figure out the purpose of the app?

Just the basic edits? Hundreds of apps that can do that.

Maybe PS Express?

It's a bit more than basic contrast, brightness.

You can apply to part of a frame, change color curves, healing, perspective, portraits etc.

It's one is the best editors I've found.

I guess I'll have to try PS Express

I'm not sure why Google didn't implement it but a shortcut seems like your only option.

Not sure why selecting and opening it in the app isn't good enough though. You're going to end up in the app anyway so it's not really extra work for you.

The iOS app opens from device only, while the Android app opens from every source (device, Dropbox, OneDrive etc) - and all my photos are stored on cloud.

So on Android I could go to the app and open any photo ; or I could go to Google Photos and share to Snapseed.

Neither option is available on iOS Snapseed

Ok - didn't realise you wanted to open images directly from the cloud, that wasn't apparent in the OP. Google has a habit of half-assing the iOS version of many of their apps, I might too in their shoes. Fortunately there's no shortage of apps.

I don't have any heavy duty photo editing apps on my phone since I upgraded. Small screen editing doesn't do it justice, esp if I'm shooting raw. The Photos app has enough for a quick edit.

I didn't mention cloud or device because, well, it had never mattered where the image was in Android. So I wasn't aware that it needed to be said

The main thing I liked about it was selective editing - and the sheer simplicity of doing anything.

It doesn't really matter where the image is in iOS either if the app developer supports it. This one is on Google so maybe ask them if they're planning on supporting it in the future?

I was just answering you on why I didn't mention cloud in the OP. But just seen this in Google Photos... 'Open Snapseed'

You okes will one day learn the art of the necro lol

It’s harder than it looks & requires sound comprehension abilities.

Many have tried & failed.
