Here I am browsing with 2 windows...one is MYADSL and another is OpenGod for a list of open source apps.

I closed the window with OpenGod website and suddenly I have a hundred popups appearing one after the other in an endless loop of blank windows. So I go to task manager while my systems starts to slow down with all the windows opening. I stop the IExplorer process and it closes all windows. :)

So now I am back to browsing and nothing suspect is happening anymore. LOL should I be worried?

that sounds like BS
but what if a virus could stop your CPU, GPU and System fans:eek: now that will fry something

but for a few hoaxes, I have never heard of any virus that can destroy hardware.

The motherboard would have shutdown the system when the critical temperature is reached (provided you have that default feature enabled in the BIOS)...

As for the hard disk, the boot sector or filesystem may have been damaged, but not physically broken.

No IE 6 :/ company refuses to upgrade or use any other browser for "security reasons"

IE is amongst the most-unsafe browsers there is... whislt FireFox is the most secure. My ISP warns me if I try to access their https pages from anything other than FF.
