Currently have a contract with Virgin Mobile, recently recieved an sms from +270840040479. The content of the message was "Redtube (0800981221) :: http://sf.hoho.me.uk/s/z?*aI2js3hB5ZRM1WHa".

Always hear of people getting billed for ridiculous things, so currently pretty worried. I've already googled the number and it came up with a WASPA complaint, and the adress just went to a blank page. Any suggestions as to a further course of action?

call your ISP & ask them to block billing from them if it happens

& I HOPE you didn't access that link from your cell/mobile......

What totally freaks me is the number of names these people operate under. This service for example goes like this:

RedTube (client) --> Peekabootv Ltd (holding company) --> Switchfire (?) --> Opera Telecom SA (SP) --> Oxygen8 Communications UK (Holding Company). Bastards.

it's unethical, sadly not so much illegal. If they operated in a more open manner people would be able to better decide before ''joining''.
Instead they offer a useless service & persuade you to join involuntarily.
