Well, I want legendary Honda quality. My motorcycle is old enough to be my father and my scooter is a piece of **** that only gets 30 km/l
Honda claims their E-Storm gets 55km/l
On a 14l tank that is like 770km's before refill.
Dunno, have not ridden one before. Scooter gets 115 km/h bike used to get 145, now barely hits 120 or starts.
I have a car for that
Does the Honda E-Storm have any competitors I should consider?

I would agree with getting a second hand cbx250, they are really nice bikes. I got 25-28 km/l on mine and could comfortably cruise at 120km/h and make it a bit past 140km/h.
Travelling 85km/h on the highway is definitely not safe, but if its going to be used around town I
guess it's fine, all depends on what you want and will use it for.
I know I would not be happy on a bike with top speed of 85.

For around town it's fine, of you ever want to go on the highway you'll need more power. I had a tw200 and it'd do 110km/h on a flat road. I really wanted those extra 20km/h for the highway. I agree with the cbx250 as suggested above.
bit late, but Its fine as a commuter. just stay off the highway. ive seen 100km/h indicated on mine, but thats at redline and didnt want to take it further. ive had it 2.5- almost 3 years. hasnt let me down once! has about 13600km on. goes to 80 easily then slow after that. the 55km/l claimed fuel economy is bull. best ive had is 38km/l (which is still not too shabby 
) and im 183cm and weigh 67-70 (depending on how tight i have to pull my belt that month). the economy greatly depends on the terrain.
others you can consider are suzuki gn125, suzuki en125 (think both are around R10k new?), yamaha ybr125 (was R14k last time i saw). if youre willing to check out scoots go check out the SYM brand. they are fully backed by suzuki sa. have various scoots around R10k. very very reliable. someone over at the sascooters forum had a 300 sym, but got a lemon (conrod snapped at 30 000 km).was still in warrenty and Suzuki sa did a full rebuid, free.
all in all im very happy with my e-storm. cbx250 is also good if you have the bucks.
