Should I buy or not?

So, I have been thinking of upgrading for years now, ie, buy a bigger house.

I have viewed a number of houses, in all of the viewing, I can safely say that I missed out on one house. Someone beat me to it, the rest were not to my taste.

Anyway, I recently saw a nice house with a reasonable price. My problem is that it is surrounded by security estates. I don't know if that is good or bad but I feel uncomfortable about living in such a set up.

Anyone with that kind of environment or experienc? Would anyone recommend such a purchase?

Is it a stand alone property but around it is security estates or is it a property in a security estate?
If its a stand alone property, what do you mean "surrounded"? Are there now other stand alone properties?
