I would appreciate some guidance.

I ordered the RCT Power trolley as per below. I only need about 500w for 3 hours so this should be sufficient for my needs. It will only be delivered middle of July so still have the option to cancel, and was wondering if I need to get something else that's better value for money?

1. Can I replace it with drop in Lithium batteries in time? Will the inverter support it?
2. Is there better value for money out there? Cost was R7200
3. This is only powering lights / some plugs for baby monitor etc / Maybe TV but we really don't care about TV during LS

R7200 is a good price, I paid R7800 for mine in at Takealot in May.

Keep that one, you know you can plug plenty into it, plus you can add solar to it if things get worse.

I've got 2 laptops and 2 pc's plugged into mine.

Is that 500watt per hour for 3 hours, so 1500watt total..? Or 500watt for the entire 3 hours..?

Yes it is wrong - or rather, those calculators do not account for DoD % and inverter efficiency %.

I'm not sure, that's too complicated for me. I use these calculating methods in this post:

I'm also worried about the only 10A max charge current. If you run those batteries down to the max they can handle, you might never have enough time in between loadshedding time slots to fully charge them.

If it is only 1 battery then you should be fine with 4-5 hours of charging time.

Does it have 2 x 12V 100Ah batteries in?

From the OP link it only seems to mention one battery.

The one I have on order, only has 1 100AH battery included, hence my question to replace it with Lithium in time. ,But then at 10A max charge, is that not a concern when charging let's say Hubble drop-ins?

I'm not an expert, but the Hubble should be fine, just might not fit in the cabinet. Can check the spec sheets.

10A is fine, well that is what I have mine on for the Mecer 2400VA and two hubble's.

150W an hour should be okay for 3 hours on the LA's. Maybe 130W to be safe.
