So currently I am signed up for 20mbps VDSL but I have never gone ahead and changed the profile to a VDSL profile, Its always been an ADSL2+ profile running at around 15mbps.

Today i went ahead and checked the telkom coverage map to see if FTTH was close and i noticed that is said I was able to get 20mbps VDSL at my address, this got me thinking of trying to get my line updated to a VDSL profile to try and push out the extra few Mbps but not sure if my line can handle it....what you think? here are the current stats on the ADSL2+ profile.

Downstream:

SNR: 6.8db
Attentuation : 14.5db

Upstream:

SNR: 8.4db
Attenuation: 27.2db

thanks for your input :)

Your specs are about the same as mine - I live 2.5km from exchange - and I get 19.5Mb dl on VDSL 20Mb.

Make sure they put you on full line speed - in my case 22Mb setting

I do get a few CRC errors but then again I also did on ADSL.

Can do a screen grab of line speed if you want.

Edit: btw the Attainable as calculated by the router is 32MB odd.
