Should I Dispute Traffic Fine

I was stopped by traffic on my way back from a funeral in Venda in Limpopo. They gave me a fine for my (1) front tire which they deemed unroadworthy. I was already making quotations to replace all the tires and even showed them proof. But they were obviously only interested in me bribing them otherwise. My problem is the tires weren't in that bad a condition although they showed signs of wear-out, hence I was replacing after getting paid. Also, I was just broke because of the family funeral. Now the fine indicates a date to appear in court in Venda which would be expensive and I can't afford, I can't even afford to travel to see my family. If I pay the fine I'd have to postpone replacing all my tires as it's another expense. So I was obviously taken advantage of on the assumption that I would've given in to the temptation of giving them a bribe to avoid this inconvenience.
Can I dispute the matter in Gauteng without travelling to Limpopo?

Have you gotten the fine yet? Should be contact details on there, see if they can help you out.

If any part of your tyres has below the minimum tread, they’re illegal. You’re going to end up paying it eventually, because with a summons and a court date you’ll be in contempt if you don’t either pay or appear, and a warrant or arrest will be issued. It’s not a camera speeding ticket that you can safely ignore. You could try to phone the public prosecutor (in Limpopo), and ask him to reduce the fine, but don’t pin too much hope on that.

Your vehicle is unroadworthy, and a missile on a wet road. You are going to kill someone. What makes you think that you are so special that you do not have to maintain tyres? Bet you bought a new pair of Nikes instead, huh?

Learn your lesson and budget for safety items by putting aside 100 bucks per month for vehicle safety items (like every other responsible vehicle owner). Pay your schoolfees, and make those quotations to get your tyres replaced.

You have to appear before the court that summonses you, ie in Venda. If you can't get there on that date, let them know through the proper channels and get their approval to set a new date. Failing to do so means you'll probably be charged with a completely new and separate offence as well: contempt of court. Good luck.

Hey retard, I neither buy sneakers nor stupid crap like that. Read the damn post before you start trolling. I have responsibilities and expenses that delayed me, as of now my tires are being replaced cos that's what I intended. Ignorant moron!

I could try that one. I may have to pay it in instalments. But thanks!

You might want to dial it back a tad.

Are your tyres below the minimum tread, anywhere?

Did they overtly demand a bribe? Or are you assuming they wanted one because of the reason you were cited?

They wanted one because of the 'modus operandi' and delayed process. My only downfall is that I don't support that system. I'm sure the one tire that's in the front's edges were somewhat below the minimum tread. In which case I can understand the attention they called for. That's why I was attending to it.

Then it’s simple. Have your vehicle roadworthied and send the certificate to the prosecutor.

Accusing traffic officer of soliciting a bribe when they issued you a valid fine for an unroadworthy vehicle makes you the moron. Get your **** together.

Why should they? Someone makes a racially based attack and you, a moderator, goes after the victim for getting upset and ignores the perpetrator? That’s a bit rich...

Nikes are a race issue?
