I have done everything so far, bought all expansions and just when i got in, THE PING IS 500 the least, their is no way i can pvp or raid with it, so then there'd be no use for me to keep this game let alone the account, if anyone can help me with a solid solution to my problem, and yes i have read the sticky (SOLUTION TO YOUR LATENCY ISSUES), i am with telkom and no i wont change my ISP.

what speed you running?

I'm also from telkom running 384k line - with openweb account.
ms on WoW 337ping... EU servers.

384kbps (40kbps download) (12kbps Upload), speed shouldnt be the problem for me, coz i can play all the COD's with no lag what so ever.

what about malware? my WoW updates had malware - removed it and it improved some of the speeds.

and yes my latency sometimes gets to 371 and thats the furthest it gets, stays like that for like 5 minutes then goes to 500+ again

I also "use" a modem but how are you connected to the modem? with wireless or with a Ethernet cable?

ok - and what about your ISP is it shaped or unshaped?

if its shaped you may loose some of your connection speeds during the day...

so far I can't seem to figure out what is wrong exactly - I wouldn't leave wow just because of connection speed, after all you paid good money for it.. maybe try it for a few days and if it still bothers you then drop it...
Maybe you can run the pc at a friends house just to see if your problem persists there.

might be two problems

I recently bough WOW and play it maybe a few hours a week.
At first I was concerned that I will experience a lot of latency since the servers we play on is in Europe.
Luckily I have no such problems. Movement is instantaneous.

Do you have an unshaped adsl connection?
Is your ISP far from where you live i.o.w do you live far from a main city?
I am unshapped 100% and my ISP's nearest server is around 10-15km from were i stay

I live in the city nearest connection is in JHB 50mill away from open servers...
I use unshaped from open web and ADSL from telkom. I have no issues with wow speeds

I'm also running another pc with wow on the same line and also has no issues.

dude you said you had 250... 250 means no raids or PvP

its just weird that your ping is fine on COD but not with WOW one should think that COD uses more latency than wow?
