I want to get a tablet for use when out of the office.
One of its uses will be to access email
But I want to keep my email in sync on my office pc and the tablet.

I use a Gmail account.

Is using Imap the best method to use?
How slow will it be to sync between the Gmail server and the computer (adsl) / tablet (wi-fi or gsm)?
I have fairly large inbox / outbox. I hardly ever delete messages!

I don't want to make a decision that I will regret so all help will be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Yes to what?

Should you use imap for email. Makes perfect sense particularly if you're accessing your gmail account from multiple devices.

Why not just use the gmail app? Or if you get an iPad you can use the native mail app and select gmail.
