I use Shoutcast occasionally, it plays fine. Takes a short while to connect and then streams easily, even if you are capped, if you choose a stream of say <=56kb.
Never heard of station ripper... but I assume its illegal, but go for it anyway.
If you're uncapped you can pretty much even watch the videos on YouTube as they download... they even download quicker than you can watch them usually.
Capped your stream is limited to stuff less than 56kbps, with no browsing. I listen to DI.FM and it works fine.
Oh, right I only meant 56kb or less when capped. normally you can do any type of mp3 streaming of course.
Its a bit over the top to stream audio at 300kb.. but 192 is the highest I've gone and it works fine.
I also watch You-Tube videos straight from the stream. Unless they are too high quality, then they might stick a few times and you should let it download, but it depends on your connection and the stream.
No, because capped speeds are limited to 64kb, so getting 64kb might even be hard as if could slip under that value and make the stream hang for a few seconds while it buffers.
56kb is a normal value for streaming and should work fine when you are capped. Wont sound great though, im used to >192.
