Anyone have experience with magnetic milanese straps?

I went to a Huawei store and tried on one of their GT3 watches.

The one watch had a gold magnetic strap and is so easy to put on. First impression was it was comfortable but I would have to wear it daily to see if it hurts my arm.

I see takealot sells magnetic straps but only for apple watch.

15k, no man, people are nuts. I'd rather put the 15k down as a deposit towards a 2nd hand Omega speedy, or buy a decent mechanical.
I think the 5K retail is overpriced….

Man I hate this thread :X3:

Need more!!!!!

Hello … did someone call my name

… yes it’s plastic (a nice satin feeling plastic). Yes the crystal is acrylic (which can be polished to new with the right stuff). Yes it’s super lightweight and feels like a toy

But I love it

Edit: people don’t realise two things: the omega has a nasa strap that’s exactly like that on the swatch. The original moonswatch from omega also had an arcrylic crystal (so rather scratch than shatter)

The straps arent too bad, but if you have hairy wrists expect a watch wax, the finish of the strap also wears where the magnets attached.

Hi Guys
I need to repair this strap - your thoughts:

1) Worth it and what glue to use?
2) Buy a new strap that will show it off better and where to buy such a strap?

Thanks for any advice.

Genkem contact adhesive. Put a thin layer on each side, give it 10 minutes to settle and then push the sides together. Put something heavy on the strap and give it 12 hours to dry.

What does the end look like that attaches to the watch?

Thanks apprecaite the advice. The strap has split 3 ways. The strap itself if the one it came with - attaches to the watch itself - slides into a slot and then 2 small star screws tighten the slot. Pretty darn irritating - so think the glue idea will be a LOT cheaper than an official replacement
