Limited Edition Nixon only 28 million ever made (till Feb 2023 when the factory in Shenzhen is expanding capacity for another 10 million. ONEDAYONLY Special marketing team discounting in March).

Nixon, the epitome of over priced junk watches. With their delectable custom fit straps, soo expensive you pretty much have to throw the watch away if the strap breaks.

Some nice recent updates.

@gbyleveldt having seen all your impressive restores including those recent Tags, I wondered if you could spruce up my Speedie?

Awesome, hopefully they are going to be super comfortable.

It would be awesome if you posted a long term update on the durability (loss of elasticity, fraying, etc), in say 6 months (depending on wears)

Well, dont expect too much, the name says it all: CNS = cheapest nato straps

This is my 3rd order in the last 3 years or so, I keep on buying from them so that also tells you something. I would regard their overall quality as mid tier.

This order worked out to R655 for 6 straps (I am based in the UK tho, so save on shipping). Its unbeatable value.

Still absolutely loving the FXD, just so comfortable to wear.
If a watch came with a bracelet or a strap, I’d definitely get it with the bracelet, but I’m 100% for certain a strap guy.

In the past I wore my Seamaster on a Hadley Roma Kevlar strap, and it was was awesome, but wasn’t the best quality, and eventually started fraying.

So I wanted to get something similar, but of premium quality. I was going to buy one of the Artem “loop-less” sailcloth straps, but they don’t have stock of the deployant in stainless, only PVD.

So I have now ordered a canvas leather backed strap from Fin Watch Straps, which are apparently of very high quality - https://finwatchstraps.com/collecti...-canvas-with-leather-lining-22x20-mm-20x18-mm

Had to choose DHL, but the price wasn’t too bad, so let’s see how long that takes to get here.

I also ordered 2 “marine nationale” style straps from the watch steward for the FXD.
Courier shipping on those was ridiculous, so I just sent them to my AGS box in New York, which cost $4. The AGS calculator says that the ZA shipping will then cost +-R250, which then becomes very decent.
I’m not expecting this to be a fast process.

Had to pay R275 for VAT, and R200 for disbursement. No idea what that is really, sounds like paying DHL to do their job, considering I already paid them 28 Euro for shipping.

They say delivery by 13th, but it should be in cape town/joberg tomorrow

Id love to know your thoughts when they arrive. I have this specific watch with 21mm lugs (which is a pain to get straps for) and I see a nice padded sailcloth strap in that link that would work.

Edit: spent some time on their site and they have some pretty nice looking sailcloth straps with deployment buckles. I’ll hold off till you get yours for review

What time is it? That's right, Hamiltime!

This Jazzmaster is pretty chunky, it has to be to be for that Valjoux 7750 Chrono to fit nicely (which is pretty much my favourite Caliber).

Just a reminder that if you see something you like shoot me a PM and we can talk ;)

FinWatchStraps - Handmade in Finland

Got my canvas strap with omega style deployment delivered to me yesterday, and I have been wearing it today on my Omega Seamaster 2254.50 - https://finwatchstraps.com/collecti...-canvas-with-leather-lining-22x20-mm-20x18-mm

I would say that I am very happy with the purchase. Quality seems really high.

The best strap I have every tried is the Omega Dark Side of the Moon nylon strap with ceramic buckle. Albeit, this was only for a couple of minutes of handling time at an AD, and was probably 5+ years ago.
I have since then tried to replicate the look and feel, and the Hadley Roma Kevlar strap I had did do a fine impression, considering it was $20 or so.
Is the one by FinWatchStraps as good as the DSotM strap, probably not, but it's still pretty damn good.

The omega style deployant is awesome. I would really like to try an OEM Omega one.
I have a couple of butterfly deployants, and they suck, really finicky to use.
It is just really comfortable to wear, which to me is the most important thing.

What I dig about straps like this is that they can work with shorts/jeans + tee, and feel military/tool like, and they work with a more office/winter pants + jersey

I have 6.5" wrist, and am I using the strap/deployant on the 2nd last hole. So this would probably work down to 6.25" or so.

What is also cool, is that they give you 50 Euro off next order if you post a review. Seeing as I was going to "review" this anyway, it gives me now an excuse to order another one, with different stitching, that I can use on my Explorer 2

One thing that I am not certain of, which isn't a huge deal, is what the strap is actually made of. The website says "canvas", but I am not sure of if this is cotton, or if it is nylon/cordura.
