Showmax Customer Service Fail

Well I never.

First you gotta deal with a Showmax bot (luckily 'I want to talk to a human' actually transfers to an agent).

Then this happens:

To be fair, she started responding three minutes later to my 'Are you there?' question.

But jah, kinda sums up client service these days.
 
*facepalm so hard* The rest of the client service "experience" went even worse than the above. Guess the Universe is saying I shouldn't be a Showmax customer. Thanks Universe.

You know it's bad when the Showmax customer service rep first says I need to try another payment method when I report a technical error message - "Failed to validate your phone number. Please try again or choose a different payment method." - on the step where I was adding Showmax to my Vodacom subscription, and then says I need to report the problem to Vodacom when I say I don't want to do that.

"Yeah hi Vodacom, Showmax's website doesn't like my cellphone number. Can you help pls?" Just imagine.
 
Why not sign up directly with Showmax? That’s the problem with these telco’s wanting to aggregate everything. It will never work smoothly.
Well to be fair I’m trying to sign up ON showmax’s website, and they offer the Vodacom payment method. I have a TopUp contract and too much money I never use coz my package also has a voice and data bundle. First world problems hey: having money you can’t use.

Interesting. Why is your identity hidden but not the agent's?
