Without rugby, cricket and motorsport it's a no from me.

The usual Showmax offering does nothing for me, only select sports would get me to sign up.

Doesn't look like it.

I'm interested in what DSTV subscribers, who currently get Showmax for free, will be charged to upgrade.

I currently pay $13 (R240) per month for Hulu, Disney+, and ESPN so this doesn't seem like a winner to me.
 
And the fact is you still need data. Add R400 for 50GB LIT streaming data if you don't have Internet at home. That's R849.

Is there a "legal" way they allow for that? IOW are concurrent connections not limited to household occupants?

("legal" means civil self-created legalities in this case, and maybe some copyright law.)

DAZN going to launch in SA soon, for between R100 and R150 a month. Maybe international content can be unlocked with a VPN

Surely Premium subscribers aren't that stupid that they would start paying for Pro. Sounds like the biggest difference between Showmax and Pro is live sport streaming but all sports are already on Premium.

On the surface probably not but there are some speculating that DStV satellite subscribers might lose the ability to stream once DSTV launches their standalone streaming service at which time Showmax might be their only other "included" option.
