Recently Sickbeard doesn't seem to pick up nzb's for certain shows such as Arrow (for instance) and others.

Looking at the logs it says it can't find a download on any of the providers I am using.

I've searched on binsearch.info etc and it doesn't seem to be indexed there as well. Or if it is, it's under some funny name.

Is this the DMCA at work?

I've resorted to manually adding nzb's but it killing my whole home media automation vibe.

Yes unfortunately most upstream usenet providers now have automated take-down requests and the studios are actively utilizing this especially with new shows.

Get a Newztown or NZBSA account and add it to Sickbeard. They don't remove their NZBs.

NZB files should still be there, but the download will fail if it has been taken down by DMCA.

Its not the NZB's its the actual files. I still havent got the last few episodes of fringe
Nope, Sickbeard isn't pulling the NZB in the first place, which means that it can't find it.

As for the issue of missing articles, use two providers, one based in the US and one based in the EU. Get a block account from either provider, and set it as a backup :)

Add as many indexers as you can.
like Mikey said, nzbsa but also: "club, "-rss, "stars, "srus, "planet

i'm not giving links or even writing the full indexer names, you know how to google.

Astra and Supernews BOTH have EU and US accounts... with 4 servers you can't go wrong!

Not sure what their replication speed across servers is though, and they both have automated DMCA processes in place. The benefit of providers headquartered in the EU is that many of them have a manual DMCA process, requiring the complainant to fill in an online form for each complaint, which takes up to 5 days to process. PM me if you want to know which one I'm using, not gonna list names here :)

I'm ok, but thanks :o

the only problem I personally am having, is with couch potato... I sometimes get RAR-inside-RAR problems, where the rar inside is password protected.
Now I've set SAB to detect this and discard the nzb immediately, but sometimes it doesn't work...

CP just isn't sending me the "good" nzbs. Do I have a crappy indexer that I should disable, or what should I do?

I'm using Newsdemon as a primary and easynews as a backup server.
I was on Astraweb for years but it just got too bad over the last bit.

Mike please pm me what server you're using..

You downloading Arrow in SD? I found the naming convention for some shows in SD arrow.112.hdtv etc doesn't gel with sickbeard, switching to HD where its arrow.s01e12.720p.hdtv.x264. etc works fine. I think that is your problem.

That's the problem I also have. Sickbeaard does not recognise that naming convention. Is there anyway to fix this in sickbeard? I also have to manually download the nzb's for arrowm

Don't know of any fixes except for switching to HD quality
