So the servers are finally live so to get that sweet sub 100 ping game going post you Ubisoft tags so I can add you to my friends list.

Let's play siege like it meant to be played and likes its 2015 all over again.

Edit: oh I forgot my Ubisoft tag is GforceD too.

Yeah no, we tried playing on them but they don't seem to be fully live yet, out of 20-30 games we got EU servers every time, even when the server states SANorth before we start matchmaking

And it was at that moment is did not care anymore.....

It is being done in stages. They have already hosted the test servers on PC, but the results are still being analysed. The results will determine whether it will be permanently introduced and at what scale.

It may still be deployed in SA, but other publishers (and developers) have previously pulled out on bad test results. Those who want to purchase the game on PC who haven't done so to date or haven't received the game with some hardware bundle will have to wait on Ubi's announcement to have the best online experience.

This is from one of the Ubisoft moderators on the Reddit: "Apologies for the confusion. There was a bit of miscommunication in the addendum. The SA servers were only available in the test server for the time being. As they are still undergoing testing, they will not be available for live quite yet".

I haven't played a game on the main servers yet, but when I logon to the game it says my server is southafricanorth and my ping is 32 (it used to be 14 when they released it on the test server, so something is messed up).

I did hear from my friends and saw a post from the Reddit also saying that when they tried to join a game, the lobby was all South Africans but their ping was 160 so yeah I think it's still a bit messed up at the moment.

The Xbox One permanent servers went live today. No news whether they are happy with the PC results.

They posted on twitter that is was successful. I guess they were happy with the results

They are still busy doing tests on the PC side. This won't launch soon, maybe late December, somewhere in January or they will pull the plug on PC.

Ubi, however, is busy developing a crossplay netcode. Meaning that the new permanent Xbox One servers may be leveraged to also take on PC users when this is live. They only announced this back in October so maybe Q3/4 2020 or somewhere 2021.

For some reason everyone thought the test servers are the real deal. As I have previously mentioned in this thread, many developers and publishers pull the plug on PC in SA. They need users, and they need to sustain their user load without making a loss. Hosting dedicated gaming servers in SA doesn't come cheap and 'always' reliable.

They didn't pull the plug here yet though
