Signal Booster for TV

I am having endless probs with my LCD TV.
Reception here is about 95%.(somewhat grainy) TV keeps switching off. Bought an ELLIES power supply and a AERIAL KING amp. Reception is even worse.
Is this because they are different makes? I somehow think both have to be the same make to be compatable.
Is this correct?

They dont have to be the same make. Did you buy a combiner or mast amp? How many dBs is the amp rated?

I sent you a PM but my connection timed out so I don't know if it went through or not. No internet and no TV. I changed to my cellphone as a modem.
