I moved into a new place. Same street as my previous place. Just a different townhouse complex. Literally 100-200 metres from previous place.

Previous place - 100% signal strength 99.9% of the time. easily download 2-2.5 GB of data per night after hours.Would normally see speeds of about 100kbs after hours.
New place - 0%-70% signal strength, most in the lower 30% region. Am lucky if I can manage 700MB per night after hours. Normally I just wake up to all my downloads having timed-out and nothing finished so the whole night was a bust. I have never seen speeds in excess of 40kbs.

Now my questions are:
1. Is it possible that a 100-200 metre move can make such a huge difference to my internet experience?
2. Would an antenae help?

1. Yes for all wireless technologies.
2. Take directional, omni is useless.
