Thuli Madonsela versus Jacob Zuma - a clash of personalities that can be explained by the curlicues and flourishes of their signatures.

What the signatures tell is a tale of two types of people driven by very different needs.

Yossi Vissoker is a forensic graphologist whose day job is looking for forgeries and gleaning personality traits from handwriting and signatures.

The Times asked him to take a look at the two people who are slugging it out in the media at the moment - Public Protector Thuli Madonsela and President Jacob Zuma.

For a start they have very different signatures: Zuma's is printed, unlike Madonsela's, which is cursive and crosses itself.

"With Zuma's signature there are no doodles. It is just his full name. He is saying, 'I don't need to make this nicer, this is me'," explained Vissoker.

The president's signature, he believes, reveals an honest person who is modest and simple, and does not hide secrets.

"He feels very connected to his people: his tribe, his family and voters," explained Vissoker.

The separated "J", Vissoker adds, suggests his separation from his father at an early age, which helped mould his independence.

"He is dedicated, stubborn and an achiever," said Vissoker.

"He demands from his people absolute loyalty. If people are not loyal to him, he can become vindictive."

Turning to the public protector, Madonsela is a bookish thinker, according to Vissoker, but she is no pushover.

"It is difficult for anyone to make her change her opinion."

She is an academic who is forever seeking to absorb new information. At her bedside, believes Vissoker, lie law books, not novels or magazines.

She is honest, modest and does not like to show off, her signature reveals.

Vissoker thinks that Madonsela, unlike Zuma, is not socially inclined: "She would find it difficult to make a connection with other people. She is not into small talk. With Zuma, you can talk about anything for hours."

The signatures tell us that the fight over Nkandla is going to be tough. Neither will back down.

Yossi Vissoker is obviously a ****ing moron.

(Partially) honest would be a more accurate description. Or honest when it suits him. Maybe he was honest until the largess and opportunities of office were laid before him, but I'm afraid he ain't honest no more

Graphology, distinct from "forensic handwriting analysis", is not a science. To my knowledge, there is no such field as "forensic graphology".

Yossi is a complete and utter moron...

Yeah, and "forensic graphology".. lets make something that is complete thumbsuck guess work sound cool and important.

Let me guess, he consults his horoscope and ancestors before deciding which medicine to rub on his toti as well?

Not sure if trolling or just plain stupid.

Was gonna say, I dont think this is based upon science at all.

Might as well have read their star signs. Or thrown the bones.

They forgot to add one thing to this article:

"This completely accurate and truthful study is proudly sponsored by the ZANC"

I don't know how it's possible to read so much rubbish from a simple 'x'.

Im wonder what the paycheck for such garbage analysis was?
