I'm not sure about the whole IS better/worse than SAIX thing since I read through the thread that ld13 posted: http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php?t=122721 They did some comparisons and the IS one seemed to have lower latency and be more reliable (constant.) Although, that was a comparison between IS semi-shaped and SAIX shaped. So I think I'm going to give the IS one a shot via Nexus and see from there.
Right now, I'm also looking out for an ISP that allows me to pay once-off without debiting my bank account. I think Nexus, WebAfrica and OpenWeb all allow that, so they're the ones I'm keeping an eye on. That way I'll at least be able to try a new account each month until I find an ISP I'm happy with. I think that's the most prudent course of action.
