Sim Activated - where to from here?

Hi guys

My dad had his Rain sim delivered and the delivery guy asked for some paperwork, ID, proof of address etc. Later that evening my dad received an SMS saying the Rain sim card has been activated.

Today however there is no internet connectivity. It is connected by says no internet. Does he still have to wait for the RICA to take place?

Edit: Explain as if you are talking to someone who has never seen this stuff before because I am utterly useless with Wifi networky stuff

Rain Sim is activated and working perfectly. We tried it in another router belonging to a friend.

Turns out that the router we bought from Makro is faulty!!!
