Hi guys

Bit of help needed. Recently bought an aftermarket android head unit for my 2015 focus. Everything works very well except one thing.

The unit has a 4g sim slot but when i put my mtn sim in it i cant seem to attach to the network. Tried a second mtn sim and same issue. When I try both sims in my phone then it works fine. In the head unit i see for example

Mtn lte (forbidden)
Vodacom lte (forbidden)
Etc

I have treid to manually add a mtn apn from info i found on Google but to no avail.

Suggestions?

Why not go the Hotspot route. Works great on my unit. Never even tried to insert a sim.

I did that as a work around but wasnt my plan A. A sim is just so much more seamless

Well i got the sim working now. There was a chinacom mtn sim saved in factory settings. They sent me the pin to get into that menu, disabled it and bingo

Glad you got it to work. I set up a Bixby routine to switch on my Hotspot when my phone connects to the car. Very seamless.

Got a weird issue with android auto being stretched. The screen is a tesla style vertical one, but the app is stretched over the entire area, so the icons are not round but elliptical and yeah looks pretty bad
