Last night I lightly pushed, and I mean lightly, my SIM for 3G on my TravelMate 6592 laptop, into what I thought was the card slot, but it actually sent under the card slot, and under the PC board. I don't want to take it in and have the down time, and I reckon it must be fairly easy to just remove the whole bottom cover, and get side access to the SIM to manoeuvre it out again.
I tried loosening all screws, but the cover was still quite tight toward the front of the laptop, so not wanting to break any plastic, I just replaced all the screws and left the SIM inside.
Is anyone able to give any advice on actually getting the cover off and getting the SIM out?
