SIM not provisioned

I got myself a Blackberry Curve 9300 on contract this morning from MTN. I inserted the SIM card around 10:30AM, and since then I've been receiving the message "SIM not provisioned:2" on my device. I was told that I should be able to start using the phone immediately, but I can't even call customer service using the SIM. The only number I can call is the emergency number.

Any idea what's going on? I've tried taking the battery out a few times, reinserting the SIM etc. but to no avail. I understand that it can take a while for BIS to activate, but haven't heard anything about the actual SIM taking so long.

Strange, the guy at the shop should never of told you you can use it immediately, normally takes 2-24 hours to activate a contract SIM on the network and it wont activate if its plugged into a powered on phone. Pull it out, leave it out and check again in the morning, if its still off then go borrow daddy's or mommy's shot gun show him what **** covered lead pellets taste like.
 
Sweet, thanks. Will leave it out overnight. Hopefully it's active by tomorrow morning. Sucks having the phone but not being able to do much of worth with it!
