Sim only order - RAIN LTE

Really #Afrifail

At no point was I informed that there is no stock. I ordered on the 3rd of November. I do not need a router. Even when calling AH no one told me about the verification required. Only after I start getting upset and then its worded that it is my fault. But despite me asking multiple times is anything required.. No one bothered.

On wed I get an SMS that I will be called within 24hrs. To arrange delivery for the sim.

That did not happen. Now my phone rings. I get spoken to as though I'm being done a favour by being promises delivery by the 15th of November.

Afrihost is interfering and preventing me from running my business. I need internet. If people were honest and did not lie I would have known to continue with the internet I used before.

I was told 5-7, which would hurt but I could manage of sort. Not half a month.

I ordered sim only about 2 days ago, received a call and was told that I will receive my sim card by not later than next week wednesday but it can be earlier. So eagerly waiting for it.

:( The sim card shortage is with the actual provider, this caused significant delays for all RAIN LTE-A Sign-ups.

I do apologise if this information wasn't conveyed to you. They are working to process everyone's order as quickly as possible.

I do not appreciate the whole manner in which this has been handled.

My order for A SIM CARD ONLY was placed on Friday the 3rd of November. They have been stringing me along, tried to blame me as the source of the delay, and outright lied to me ALL week. So no I do not feel eager nor happy about the supposed wed delivery. And they expect me to not move around for 3 days(mon-wed), as "it can be on any of those day". Oh, and if there are any delays on their side it will be later in the week.

Hell no. They can give me an ETA morning OR afternoon, on a day, in the meantime life goes on and so does business.

I was told anytime before next week wednesday but I'll be notified the morning of the specific day when it will be delivered.

A simple GENERIC email(s) would have helped keep myself and others informed.

You should have received some form of communication with regards to the delay. :( I am sorry about that!

My sim FINALLY arrived...

And the connection light on the router is red
The paper says activation takes up to 24hrs. Being me it will probably take 48hrs.

I will put it in the router every few hours, and in the meantime I'll keep hoping it starts working soon.

Also waiting for the activation. On my previous sim card it took about 1 hour or so.

Brilliant! :) Activation can actually (sometimes) take up to 48 hours, but it's much quicker more often than not. :) Keep us posted with feedback!

How come uploads are three times faster than downloads?

Oh and the speed test just before 1700 the downloads reached 13-17meg,

And now after 2000(did not test inbetween) downloads don't even reach 5meg???

And as an FYI setting the router to 1800/2600/auto produces similar speed test results...

That is with the B315 router. My B618 router is away on loan at the moment. Should get it back tomorrow and can then test with that...
