I got my phone this morning and did a micro to nano sim swap, but the new phone still shows "No Service".

I don't remember it ever taking this long (since about 09h00 this morning) and usually I do this because I lost the other SIM, etc.

Seeing as it is the same number, do I need to have both devices on? Off? New devices only on?

Thanks

Vodacom sim swap should take 3 hours max. Switch off the old phone sim and reboot the new phone sim. Otherwise phone 111 and tell them u still waiting.

Assume this is for the IPhone 5?

Yip. Next morning, still no service. Will go and strangle our account manager and give Voda a call.

With Vodacom our system puts the sim swop on a pending state for exactly 2 hours. This is to prevent fraud. So if you get a SMS stating that a sim swop is in progress on your line you have two hours to contact customer care and inform them. After 2 hours the sim swop is released and your line switched to the new sim.

Hi guys,

Just some feedback. All sorted now. Nashua Mobile never authorized the SIM, so ya.... should have known.

Anyways, thanks for the replies :-)

There's always a third wheel to cock it all up.

I strongly believe in dealing directly with the SP instead of these third party in betweener wannabes.

Now what I want to know is can I get a Tablet on contract with a Data Bundle and then share that with my "phone" SIM?

Can the nano sim swop be done over the phone? The call center person told me I need to go in to a shop to do it.....but they hardly seem to understand what nano sim is

you will have to go in to get the nano sim... unless you know of someone that can cut your sim to size
