Sim swap with two different blackberries

Hi guys I'm new to the forum and it looks like a great place, the thing is I've got the 9700 but want to buy the torch and give my 9700 to my wife. Is there any way to use the sim of the 9700 in the torch cause I would like to keep my number. The other sim that I will get with the torch will then go into the 9700 that my wife will be using.

Hi. Yes, it's easy. You use Blackberry Desktop Manager. Connect your new device. It will ask you if you want to switch devices. Then you just follow all the steps. When you're done you can use your Torch with your current sim.

If both phones have sims in that has BIS on it and activated.

Just an update: thanks piesang got my torch, besides the little wobble of the slide...loving the phone, anyway followed your steps and everything works perfect

Yea - awesome phone, but going from a 9700 I'm also not happy with the build :/

Is it really worth upgrading to the Torch from the 9700? I'm very happy with OS6 running on my 9700. Is the touchscreen pretty good on the Torch?
