Good day all, considdering all networks has the same quality in my area. What would be the best prepaid simcard/wireless to get for an ipad in terms of value for money?

Edit: I hope I posted this in the correct thread

I only have experience with 2 networks for that, and I would go for Vodacom. Vodacom has a nice web page and app to check account status and details, then to top-up is easy with your bank or V-Time. MTN works well, but the accounting web page is a over kill, and no quick way to see data usage etc.

I don't know how the other networks does it, I'm interested to see what others have to say about the "apps" and web pages for management of such prepaid sim/service

I'm with Afrihost. They have given me really good support and their prices are decent.

I went with Cell C for a 3GB pre-paid valid for a year for R299. Considering that I have wifi @ home and guest wifi @ work, don't use too much while out and about....

Some comments on my choice:
The good: don't have to worry about the problem with most (or even all) other offerings, is that you have a limited window to use the data your bought.
The bad: difficult to check balance - have to put sim in a phone to use USSD (that is an iPad problem)
Coverage: Sometimes you need to go into Airplane Mode an out again to get a good connection.

Look at your expected usage patterns to determine what's the best for you - and of course, coverage (each network has its own deadspots, so check your normal places where you need coverage)

You can check your data balance in the ipad 'settings'. Go to the sim applications, products and services, balance enquiry.

Telkom Mobile. Cheapest prepaid data to my knowledge. Plus you don't have to memorise the number for the SIM card thanks to their app. You can reload Data, airtime and then convert it to data.

Apreciate all the replies, its pretty much a question of what you prefer as an individual seeing that most of the major networks have been covered in the answers.

I always use MTN when I visit SA.

I tried Vodacom, but when I went to the store in Fourways, they all had this blank look when I mentioned "ipad"
