Downloaded a lot of songs for offline use, as long as I subscribe @ R60/month.

Now, they probably updated their DRM, and today, I see that ALL the offline cached songs, are being re-downloaded. Gigabytes of songs have to be downloaded again.

Ah well, they won't see my R60 again. Torrents and NZB and FLAC (way better than 192kbps MP3) FTW!

I just signed up today.
And funny enough, I will gladly pay the R60 a month to support artists, but still dl my stuff 'illegally'.
If I want to listen to a song on my mp3 player/laptop/pc at home/phone/car I do not want to re-download or be unable to do so because of DRM.

Whilst it will be argued that it is still illegal because I agreed to the Simfy's T&Cs, I say there is a difference between T&Cs and flat out piracy e.g. Any one wanting to use iTunes (properly), having to fake an US account.

But as far as I am concerned, my conscience is clear. Now if it was only easier to get onto Hulu or netflix...

If you use XBMC and a proxy it is fairly easy to get Hulu, have'nt tried Netflix personally yet but should be just as easy.

Use a VPN service such as www.elephantvpn.com to access content such as Hulu/netflix/BBC

Was actually thinking the same thing. If I was more into music it's what I'd do.

I do the same for series. Have a TopTV all inclusive package to make me not feel bad and still support content creators :D

Apparently it is when you update Adobe Air that you have to download the songs again for offline use. Simfy says they are switching to HTML5 soon and then it will no longer be a problem.

I have seen that rara.com has just started offering their service here in SA as well. It does however cost about 10 bucks more per month.

I would love to see the difference between the two offerings.

Personally I was somewhat disappointed with the Simfy offering. Some albums showed up, but were unplayable and the same goes for some tracks.

Unfortunately, rara.com does not offer trail accounts but only a reduced subscription of about R 13 for the first 3 months.

does anyone know how to "clear the cache" on simfy? I see it's hogging 1gb of space on my phone. I've taken off all the songs for "offline" listening and it's still the same. Got it with Afrihost Plus, but now I am tempted to delete the app.

Settings > apps > the app > clear cache
