Simple ADSL question

Awe!

I know this is a noob question, but I am getting conflicting info from all my sources, hoping someone can clarify this for me. Recently moved into a house. Previous owner had ADSL there, but he has moved the landline number to his new place. So I have a line at home, without a dailtone.

My question is this:
Do I need the following to get ADSL at home
1: R157.00 from Telkom for Residential line rental (exchange connection)
PLUS
2: R597.00 from Afrihost (as example) for 4Mbps uncapped, it states that the Telkom DSL Line is Included, but Telkom Voice Line is not Included.

So a total of R754 per month

Do I need 1 AND 2, or can I just buy 2? Thats where I am getting conflicting info. I have no need for a landline to use as a phone at home, so here is to hoping I can skip number 1.

Please help a man out here??? Asseblief man

Yo Whats up.

Unfortunately you will need1 and 2, Telkom will not enable the ADLS line if you don’t have a residential line.
