Simple connection diagram for Xtraview Setup (2 x DSD 1110)

Hi

Please can someone help me. I have tried phoning numerous accredited installers and they're all busy and they're expensive.

Basically I have 2 DSD 1110 decoders, both have smartcards and are working. I am currently using one of the decoders and I'd like to connect the second one in a cottage (+/- 15 metres away). The irritating thing is I had it working ages ago and then disconnected it when my tenant left. I stupidly disconnected the cables and cut one of the connectors off. The cable is there I just need help connecting it all up again.

1) With regard to the cable coming from the dish and between the 2 decoders. Does one cable come from the dish to decoder A (RF IN) and then a second cable goes from decoder A (RF OUT) to decoder B (RF IN)? or is it more complicated than that? There is a twin LNB connection on the dish so I don't know how that fits in.

2) The connector I cut off (connects to RF IN/OUT), where can I get one of those? Do I need a tool to connect it? Is it quite easy to do the connector myself?

3) Should I just get an installer to do it for me, really not keen as I know I will get ripped

Was going to help you then I read that. If you're going to be dumb you've got to be tough.
 
Why, are you an installer? If you don't rip people off that's great. I was quoted a rather large amount and wanted to avoid the high costs if possible

Whats a large amount? If the cablings there you're looking at R250 - R350 to get it set up properly.
 
+/- R500 depending on what needs to be done. I just thought I could do it myself and save some money over Christmas. Do you have any installers you'd recommend?

Well I've gathered that the 2 cables from the dish connect to the LNB connectors on both decoders. Now I just need to figure out how to connect the heartbeat cable and add the connector that I cut off. I guess I will struggle along with the manual...
 
Heartbeat cable goes from rf out on one decoder to rf in on the other.
You configure which connector does what in the xtraview setup menus.
 
I just had this done a week ago but needed the cabling done as well, cost was R1300

Sort of. It doesn't matter which rf port you connect the heartbeat to as long as your menu setting matches reality. It's pretty simple on the new software.

The f-type connector you can get at Builders. It's screw on so you just strip the coax and screw it on.
