Hey all

So im considering getting a new keyboard, the one I have at present can only handle 3 or 4 keystrokes and it gets annoying in Battlefield 3. (As far as Im aware it is the keyboard that handles the maximum number of keystrokes)
Im using this at the moment: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16823126022

The one Im thinking of getting is here: http://www.roccat.org/Products/Gaming-Keyboards/ROCCAT-Isku/

I know the Roccat is miles better in every other department- one would expect so given the price it goes for.
Question is - will it handle more keystrokes? Can anyone tell me how many it can handle?

Thanks in advance!

Hi - if you do a google search on the keyboards nkey rollover you'd get an answer.

My quick googling actually shows its ideal for your purpose.

FIRING ON ALL CYLINDERS WITH N-KEY ROLLOVER
The Ryos MK Pro features ultra-advanced anti-ghosting with n-key rollover. This means that no matter how frenzied your intense gaming sessions get, your keyboard will always register every keystroke – and never let you down.

Thanks bud, but thats not the keyboard I was looking at.
The one Ive got a link to also mentions the ghosting, but it doesnt say how many keys it can 'ghost'. Theres no n-key rollover on the Isku, which is why I ask. Unless I misunderstood something?

I've been bitten in the arse in the past because I bought an extremely expensive keyboard (Thermaltake ESports Challenger Ultimate Keyboard) and it didn't have anti-ghosting. What I recommend to you is you confirm that the keyboard does indeed have it before buying it.

My old Logitech G11 had it and my new Steelseries 7G has anti-ghosting. Afaik most if not all the gaming keyboards from Logitech have anti-ghosting.

Do you like the Isku and is there a specific feature it has that you want? I'd recommend the Logitech G11 over it and Cooler Master makes some good mechanical keyboards in the same price range.

There's your problem right there. Themlcrap is well, crap.

I found a decent 2nd hand one (few weeks old) for R700 so I figured it might be worth it. Missed the deal though, so I guess im just browsing now.
Will definitely take a look at the G110.
Much of a difference going mechanical? (besides the obvious tak tak tak tak).

@PostmanPot Haha fair enough, straight to the point there.

:D

Huge difference going mechanical, you won't go back to rubber dome. Perhaps only in the bedroom.

I just want to point out that N-key rollover and Anti-ghosting are two very different things, and resolve separate issues.

Massive difference. I'd suggest seeing if your local Musica or other PC store doesn't have one you can try, but there's a big difference in the feel and your typing performance. Even for gaming, using the right mechanical keys makes a big difference to your performance.

Mechanical Keyboard guide

I'm thinking of getting myself one, but I'm still assessing how much noise one or the other makes and how much it'll annoy other people.
