I feel I pay enough for crap service, SARS takes a decent amount of my salary, I need to pay 14% vat, I have to pay huge amounts in rates and tax's...and for what? A government that has yet to improve something in this country... no thanks, I'll screw them every change I get... if I get cought once or twice...so what... I made the money back already.

The SA government would like 110% of your salary, remember that. :)

Biblically tax collectors were always the lowest form of scum, :)
you know why. Taxation is nothing more than theft, as most of the time
we give but get nothing back.

When I went to Dubai in November ... I went on a shopping spree and ended buying this massager thing, a small helicopter, hubbly, shaver, and some other rubbish. It didn't fit in my bag, so I bought a massive new bag ... I walked straight through customs ... someone sitting next to me on the plane made me laugh though ... he said what he does is straight after he collected his baggage ... he would pretend to speak on the phone and shout I'm coming I'm coming, just wait, etc, etc ... and run straight through customs :p

btw, PS3 was R3000 (40gig), controllers 430 each, GTA 4 for 440... ;-)

Why should you pay customs? Where does that money even go anyway? Good for you.

just came from SING today ... things are expensive there ...

picked myself a sony camera and handycam for a good deal. Same price as Makro but the accessories clinched the deal - 6GB (4+2GB high spped AVCHD) memory card, extra batteries, beautifful Sony cases, etc, etc. Go there for Makro prices and twist their arm to throw in accessories. Bought from Cathy Photo and SOny shops. Did not go to any 'mafia shop' because I wanted the int warranty.

... I find all my batteries from electronics I buy in Singapore only last a couple of months... then need to be replaced.

true, but i have not heard of one of my mates who have PS3's having any problems with them yet...

And the on international forums not many people end up having to make use of the warranty...
