Single channel 1131 decoder deal - for real?

Hi All

Would love the to get the group verdict on these two deals as my single channel decoder has packed up and I need a new one.

(I have a smart card so will I need to use the new one with the new decoder, as it comes with the sale item? And also, the seller says a warranty is valid from Multichoice once the decoder is activated????)

The decoders have the same functions AFAIK, so go for the new one. Newer decoders are linked to their smartcard, so your smartcard will not work with those decoders

It will work. All you need is to give multichoice a call and they will link it for you.

Then why have a smart card for the thing at all? Why not just build the smart card into the unit?
