So I had a few days in Europe in January and got a single entry VISA just for the dates I was there.
On the way back in Amsterdam, my flight was cancelled and I had 10 hr delays - so thought I'd rather leave the airport, and come back later that day (as opposed to 10hrs in the airport!) . The lady said that my VISA didn't allow it and I needed to sit in the airport for the time *sigh* My question is why ? I thought a single entry was once in / once out - and Amsterdam would have been fine, as I haven't left Shengen?
Next thing is when I eventually got on the plane and went to Frankfurt, I took a wrong turn and 'left' the airport (I went through the wrong automatic doors, which shut me out) and I needed to go back through passport control - so no issues at all really.
Was the first lady wrong ?
Is there an issue with me leaving the airport in Frankfurt?
