So, I bought a 2nd hand audi not so long ago.

I noticed it only has a single reverse light. I understand this is intentional but the OCD side of me can't stand it.

Has anyone hooked up the other side? I took the light cluster off and there is even a bulb in there! I think they just didn't wire it up? Not sure.

Any experience/help?

On all single reverse light cars I’ve seen, the matching opposite light at the back is the single fog light.

If you have 2 fogs lights at the back, it means the one reverse light is faulty.

European law states that cars must have at least one fog light at the back, and also at least one reverse light. To cut cost they use one side for fog light, and other side for reverse light. Obviously some cars have more than one reverse light, but may then not have a fog light (in SA) or two fog lights. Not sure what the law is in this country with regards to fog lights at the rear.

My car has no fog lights, So when it's in reverse its just that 1 light on the passengers side that turns on

Try turning your cars fog lights on (most cars do have rear ones even if no front ones), read the manual if you don't know how to switch it on.

Cool, so if you want to change the other side, are you going to sacrifice the fog light? Or has the light cluster a white/transparent light for reverse?

A single red light comes on in the drivers side in the same spot where the right reverse light is on the other side

Im trying to look at pics of clusters, and most of them has 2, so isn't the bulb faulty? Does the display at the speedo complain about a faulty globe?

I guess you have a A3 8P

That's your rear fog light (that's the bulb you saw), you will notice its bright, enjoy*...

*And if you won't enjoy, and want it as a reverse light, you will need to take it to an auto electrician and then you will have a red and a white reverse light, it will stay red because the defused lens cover is normally made to look whitish (to lessen the OCD) but actually has an imbedded red filter.

This should be the original clusters, you can see the lens has a red color.

So if you need to have both the same, as I can understand, you need to buy 3rd party clusters.

Here is a pic of his cluster:

Green = reverse

Blue = rear fog light (note the red tinge)

Edit: lol we found the same pic

NOTE: People with OCD should research their cars better before buying :p

ALSO: People should learn what lights their cars have and how to operate them. There are many spazzes that drive with their rear fogs on and don't even know it (and if they know its on, then they went full retard).

LOL, Google Images, our friend!

No need to get aftermarket lights, just get lights from a market that drives on the right hand side of the road. The reverse and fog should be swopped around then.

Then just wire the reverse light to the existing one.

You could probably buy the part from your local Audi dealer, just give them the part number should take about 10 days to come from Germany. It won't be cheap though.
