With wotlk new skills, spells and tallents some really high DPS numbers have started to show. Over the weekend I read in /1 General people looking for 2 dps'ers for heroics but they must have over 2k DPS on boss fights...
Now I have grouped and raided with quite a number of people already during this expansion and 2k DPS is still quite high!
Some classes like BM hunters (myself a BM hunter) do manage to break the 2k dps mark on boss fights, but most others still hover around the 1600 dps mark. What is your experience so far in 5 man content?

Secondly what is the highest (Single target) DPS that you have achieved so far (over the duration of a boss fight ofc). This exclude Occulus last boss ;)
In 5 man groups I have reached 2.9k over the duration of a fight and 3.7k for 25man bosses. Me and another BM hunter in my raid group are seeing who can break the 4k dps mark first for sustained dps on boss fights, we both got close so far having over 4k dps for short bursts of time.

My AOE prize have to go to Warlocks and DK's for now, though I have managed to beat these classes as hunter on AOE as well (11k dps in Naxramans where we AOE most trash ;) )

With my Mage I get around 1.5k DPS in heroics. Doing first raid tonight so will see with raid buffs. I still have my lvl 70 epics though :o

Which addons do you lads use to monitor your dps ?

I have Minna damagemeters, but it's sucking donkey balls.

Well the limited 5 man's I have done, the 3k dps mark is not hard to break at all, and I am still running around in Level 70 gear.
The testing I did initially with a friends account when I was working out my level 80 BM build, I was able to break 4k dps also with selected builds + gear setups. Some of my friends in BM builds with 2 x piece tier 7 are doing around 5k dps in fully raid buffed 25 man raids where its flat out nuking. Granted that they dont use scrolls + tabards.

Being BM your pet now does around 50% of your damage. And spec'ing your pet + wearing the correct gear items benefits you even more.

A quick example of what your pet can be dishing out if proper itemization / talent builds are used is : http://img139.imageshack.us/my.php?image=petdpsqy1.jpg

Single target nuking, the BM's are still king... but I am more curious to see just how long we can run like this before the nerfbat nukes us again.

@ Voicy - Recount is very very good. It also sync's with everyone in the raid thats also using it. So results are pretty much the same with all the other DM using ppl.

orly?

I'll have to give it a looksee. The other one I had is almost bigger than my omen screen and just looks fugly. I just want something small and out of the way & semi-transparent like my vanaskos screen.

Omen, you can grab on the side of it and resize it to what ever size you like. I like recount, it's easy to setup and easy to report also :)

Recount eats memory usage, make sure you clear it everyone couple hours

Recount ftw :)

I clear it every time I enter a instance or raid etc...else it just runs. Don't really have issues on memory.

+1

It's kinda hard not to clear recount when you enter an instance or join a group. In both the above mentioned scenarios it gives you a pop up asking to clear it :)

Yup :)

Its annoying though...it pops up when you enter after a wipe as well and I keep forgetting not to reset >.<

hmmmm, considering I only changed my back (kirintor haste one), staff (ring of blood) and and a trinket (for 12 extra spell dmg)

my dps seems to be relatively the same. My crits are still +- 4500 and +- 5500 with trinkets but then again I'm level 78.... at 80 i'll probably will see changes.

I would love to see their builds and their rotations, you have some WWS reports on them already Pornolio?
Breaking the 3k mark is quite easy with the right group setup, unfortunately in 5 man you cant always have that. I am still replacing some T6 gear so hope I can see that 5k dps mark in the future as well. Nerf bat is incoming for sure, but ret paladins are still chewing on our heals with also over 3k avg dps!

@ Werries

Sure... here are some... some of them are from 2 weeks back, and most of their gear is replaced by now.

5100 dps

4700 dps

5058 from another guy :

Builds they were all using the new updated cookie cutter build.
And its all about using the b0rg3d stacking to your advantage... no brain surgery really. Eg. 4 x piece tier 6 with steady glyph... beast tamer shoulder stacking, readiness etc.

Its possible for a BM hunter to keep his BW + rapid fire (hasted with glyph ofc) up for 40 seconds of flat out nuking and 50 sec's later he is ready again with BW ... rinse and repeat. In between cooldowns updated haste potions to fill in the gap.
