singstar for PS3

I have the PS3 160g console

My wife wants Singstar.

Will the PS2 mics etc work on my console??

Are any other PS3 singstar discs available other than afrikaans treffers?? As far as I know, PS2 games will not work on my console

The usb mics works perfectly. I have not tried it myself but apparently you can use ps2 songstar disks on the ps3. You just need to start a ps3 singstar and then there is an option in the game where you can change disks and insert the ps2 disks.

I have Queen, Abba, and Afrikaanse treffers but have a look on bid or buy or take2 for more. You can also buy a lot more from the playstation store.

Yes, the mics are the same - USB. Actually Sony did not sell "PS3" mics until recently.

PS2 will not work on PS3 (my daughter is a singstar nut and has a PS2).

You can buy the Singstar songs individually online via PSN - much better. You download the base app for free, punch in your cc details and watch your wife beat it black and blue as she buys the songs

Thanks grumpy, I did not know that. My daughter is going to be very happy about that next time she stays by me (and her step mom is going to hate her in return )


** Seems you may to buy the basic Singstar PS3 on disc but you can always give the PSN online version a try first.
