singularity scary?

Hey

I was just thinking of getting the game singularity, but I don't want to play scary games..

Like if the game is like L4Dead then it's cool.. But if it's like Doom3 or F.E.A.R then no..

can someone please tell me which game is it like?

I checked on wiki (googled) read a few things, someone say it's not scary, someone say it's FLIPPING scary..

just want to make sure before it get it :P

Hey dude,

Depends what you think is scary. There are a few frights but it's not that scary. I remember the only scary part for me was in the very beginning and the only reason why it was scary is because I only had a pistol with limited ammo ha ha :D. If you're looking for prize winning story writing you will be disappointed but if you like old school shooters and lots of fun (kinda like wolfenstein) then you would like it! I don't regret buying this game.
 
+1 it was pretty fun to play , lots of cool stuff to do . not that scary at all for me +2 to hard mode ;)

Holy crap. If DOOM 3 and FEAR scares you, wait till you play real horror games like Silent Hill 2 or the Penumbra series. The 2 games you mentioned are cheap jump scares mostly. They are action shooters with a horror theme only. Singularity is a full on action game.

BTW are you a girl? It's really hard for me to picture a grown man getting scared when playing DOOM 3. That's just too much for me to take in.

doom1 (shareware version) was scary, especially in some sort of a maze thing, you could hear doggies bark, but couldn't see them

cue a doggy running full tilt round the corner and into myself

I nearly wet my pants :o

wolfenstein was fun.. I played that, but stopped a while back, didn't finish, because it made me dissy everytime I played it..

I saw a demo video of Penumbra 2 and I must say watching that alone scared the crap out of me. But dude, the first time I played DOOM 3 I got scared as well. There was this one place where you walk into the bathroom and if you look in the mirror there's a cutscene where the background goes red and your character starts aging and that looked so freaky, then it ends and there's a monster right behind you. I was playing with earphones at night and that gave me such a fright that I just sommer switched my PC right off and stopped playing for the rest of the night ha ha! Also where you're walking around in Hell with those crawling babies and the sounds...It was pretty freakin' scary man.
 
If you want scares similar to DOOM 3, try Dead Space. Same type of jump scares but with one creepy space atmosphere. It's like Silent Hill in space but 20 times the gore ;) But unlike SH ammo is not a problem, you are always stronger than your enemies.

Agree, Dead space is very gory (shooting limbs off people/aliens) and the sounds are scary, doom 2 sounds were also scary in its time :P (scared me)
 
Games these days I dont know even if its tend to be scary never scares me, movies aswell, they all do that exact same thing.

anyway, Doom 3 was REALLY scary... Like I couldn't even pass the first level... but that was like 3 years ago.. maybe I'll try playing it now.. like in the morning where the lights are shining lol

anyway, thanks everyone.. Slient hill really sounds like a killer lol..
 
Seriously? why is it boring? But everyone above says it's a good game..

are you saying it's boring because it's not scary?

Don't listen to this dude, I loved the game. It's not that scary, but don't play with earphones, then it is more scary. ;)
I stopped playing CODMW2 to finish the game, and for me, it's a big deal. :D

lol dude. Get a life. F.E.A.R and doom3 was not scary at all. I laughed at those 2 games. pathetic. Silent hill was a bit scary but. How old are you? Even movies are not scary enough. I hate people that is telling me F.E.A.R is scary.
