Sinotec 47" 47hu27n TV

Hi All,

Bought this television from a mate this weekend. Works like a charm but I do have one issue and I can't find a manual or any answers anywhere.

I connected the television to my home theater system (LG (can confirm model if needed)) but the audio is delayed on the home theater side. I've been trying to play some music via the XBOX but when I crank up the home theater there's this really annoying echo. Like a 50-odd ms delay between TV sound and home theater sound. I don't know how to turn off the TV's sound and have it play only via the home theater. Is there a way to do this?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

EDIT: I should add that the only audio options on the TV's menu is the EQ and surround. Toggling surround makes no difference.

My 42 inch Sinotec has a headphone jack in the rear. I cut the plug off some old ear phones, plugged it in and sound is muted.

On my samsung if I connect headphones it mutes sound from TV.
