My Dad's Tv that we take down to the coast has blown.
So we need to buy a small 19+inch TV asap.

Game have the Sinotec 19 and Telefunken 19 inch on special.

Which should I go for?

I see they also have a Samsung 26 inch for R1999, only 12 month warranty though.

Telefunken also 12month warranty
Sinotec has 5 years.

Samsung. That's a good price.

12 month warranty is standard with branded sets.

Bought a 19" Sinotech a year ago for R2,500. Horrible picture quality, remote, menu, etc.

I dont know about the Sinotec but i got the smaller Telefunken (i actually thought it was a tedelex ?) from game at R1099 , 17" for a spare TV. (To xbox and be able to watch sport or allow the SO to watch her shows) .
I must say Im impressed by it considering that its just over a grand.
Has VGA , HDMI , AVI , and Coax connections.
So can be used for Xbox (or any other HDMI device) or used as a TV or even double as a pc screen.
Oh and it is FHD.

Saw a Youtube video on the Sinotec where the guy complained.

26 might be too large to carry around whenever they travel to the coast, all dirt roads, bad dirt roads.

Bought the Samsung 26 inch, got home and connected everything, no power, tried different power cord and another socket, NOTHING!
Imagine if I had not tested the thing before I took it on holiday, get there and the TV doesn't work.
Wife taking it back today for a Sinotec 26.

Samsung you are pathetic!
Your kak TV and now I'm stuck with one of your Kak cell phones as well.

/facepalm

What if the Sinotec is DOA?

These things happen. Understand it. Samsung is vastly better. We told ya!

Sinotec are not a well know brand as Samsung.
I can expect and maybe forgive this from Sinotec.
BUT not from a well known brand as Samsung, really disappointing.

Anyway rant over, I see hifi corp has Hisense LED on special for same price, eish!!!

Don't get me wrong , my next TV will be a Samsung, they look brilliant and keep up with the tech, that's why I was so chuffed to get the thing and test alongside my Sinotec 32.

I checked the box in case it had been dropped, but no marks at all.
Wife swopped TV this morning with Sinotec.

I'm sorry but using a DOA experience as a determiner to change to an inferior brand is beyond me.

But I hope you enjoy your purchase and that it arrives working.

YIP, worked.

wife unpacked it nogal and tested , she was peeved that she had to go back, if this TV didn't work then I would be in the Dog house.

For my next TV I'll be sure to have a chat with first as you are confident in your statements and backings.
Have my eye on a Samsung Led 40d6000, still has the best picture I have seen compared to other brands, lots of money though - just wish the warranty was higher than 12months.

It's a nice LCD with LED back-lighting. 6 Series and up have always been good. Where have you compared though? You cannot go by a demo comparison at a mass store. ;)
