Hi all

Please can you assist.

I have a 55" Smart UHD TV running Android, I absolutely love this TV set.

I have a surround sound processor, which I bought from China, which in turn connects to my analog 5.1 system. The S/DIF output from the TV, runs into the processor.

Today, while playing a game on my laptop, the sound suddenly died. I assumed it was the laptop, so I reset it, however this proved to not be the case, as I could still hear the sound on the TV, just not on the sound system. I reset the TV, and jiggled around the cables at the back, still nothing. I then thought it could be the cable, running from the processor, or the processor itself.

I have a 12 year Philips HDD recorder, which happens to have a coaxial audio output, as soon as I plugged the cable in, I could hear that the audio for our DStv was coming through perfectly on the sound system (We use the HDD recorder, for recording, as we don't yet have a PVR)

Which then lead me to believe that the only likely issue was that it is the TV itself. I reset the TV, even messed around with the Audio output settings, in the Engineer menu, to no avail.

Is anybody able to offer suggestions, I don't want to go through the hassle of returning the TV, unless all other avenues have been completely exhausted. I have managed to get the audio outputted to the sound system by temporarily connecting an Aux cable from the line out of the TV, directly into the Aux input on the 5.1 sound system, bypassing the processor entirely, and I have no plans on keeping it set up this way. I wonder if it was an update on the TV.

Is anybody able to offer suggestions.

Thanks
