Police investigating a claim of sexual abuse by Sir Cliff Richard on Friday said new people had come forward with information after media coverage of a raid by detectives on the home of the entertainer.

Richard's property in Sunningdale, Berkshire, was searched on Thursday by detectives investigating a single claim of the sexual abuse of a boy aged under 16 at an evangelical rally held by Billy Graham in Sheffield in 1985 at which the singer performed.

The search is mired in controversy because the BBC had journalists, who apparently knew the raid was going to take place, waiting for the police outside.

South Yorkshire police on Friday said they had worked with the BBC ahead of the raid, but denied being the source of the leak.

I really hope Cliff didn't play a little bit of hide the salami with the boys back in the day. Would be a crying shame if it were true !
 
Hope not or he might be sharing a cell with Rolf Harris.
 
man he is gay and that is it. whether he committed a sexual act on a kid back in the 80's I don't know. why 30 years later does this man want to now make this claim, why not long before this. I think this could just be some person trying to take a chance here because there has been a few undesirable characters in the news of late.

I don't think this dame cliff Richard did anything.
 
One can't help wondering how many of these abuse allegations are false, driven by a desire to get money from the alleged perpetrator.

We already know that several dozen abuse claims against catholic priests were subsequently proven false, with quite a few receiving prison sentences for their extortionist attempts.

Then I suppose Bob Hewitt is innocent too - I mean, if the accusers wait more than a few day, they must be lying.





If it is shown that he is guilty, then I will not be surprised, for much the same reasons as Ralph Harris - there comes a point when we just accept that celebrities are gonna let us down in the worst way possible.

I sure as hell hope not though.
