Six month guarantee with new consumer act

I particularly like these part.

Direct Marketing
You will have a 5 day cooling off period to decline the offer after agreeing to it. Should you inform your supplier that you no longer want the offer they presented to you, They will have to give you back your cash within 15 business days.
You may not contact consumers outside the following hours: 8am - 7pm.
If you install a sign on your post box that states " no junkmail" you can take legal recourse if you get junkmail from the supplier of the advert.
A national database will be setup for the people to register so that they may not receive SPAM / promotional information / direct marketing. everyone will be forced to check with this database once a month and clean / update accordingly. this applies to DMA members and those who are not DMA members. We are still unsure if DMA will run this national database as they have the infrastructure.

Gift cards / Air time

All gift cards directly purchased must carry a minimum 3 year expiry. this applies to air time etc.
I enquired who this works with loyalty programme vouchers but it's still a grey area.

lol they will have to hire people who can read :D

hurray hurray hurray!

Finally the customers are getting some power back.
But the big companies still run this country imo :\

But the warranty is valid though?
The warrantee is valid as per the 3 years offered but as the purchase predates the 1st of April it fall outside the CPA.

This means they have to take the goods in and repair it. If it can't be repaired then the supplier will probably replace it with an identical product.

If no such product is avail then suppliers often offer a higher model & request that you pay the difference.

So, lets say I purchased a new car on 1 April and it's giving gearbox issues. Can I demand they fix it and if not fixed within a reasonable amount of time or on in a satisfactory manner after a certain elapsed period, can I demand a new car?

Where can we see a dumbed down version of the act with regards to faulty goods?

i took back a kettle i bought in dec 2010..the guy at picknpay just told me *go pick a new one * - he didnt even bother to check if it was really broekn or not...and they gave me back the old slip... sweet :D

+1000000000

Is there a link to the full break down of CPA ?
would be nice to be bullet and sales proof when walking into shop from now  once knowing all the CPA info

I tend to lose my slips between the and the car :/

I hate slips as proof. You'd think in 2011 they could record purchases online
