Hi all,

I want a nice "dark"/black skin for Windows XP. The blue/silver is too much. :p

Any other threads covering this topic?

Do I have to go the StyleXP/Window Blinds route, or are there other alternatives? I don't like StyleXP all that much. Haven't tried Window Blinds yet.

Any advice?

I've downloaded "UXTheme_Multi_Patcher_4.0.zip" and will run it soon.

How do I download the "Luna Element Black" theme from Deviant Art? Do I have to register or something?

Luna Element Blue is also nice.

Version 4 of the multi patcher gave me grief. If it doesn't work then I can mail you an older version that worked for me. v3.6 I think.
 
Does these themes also work on Vista?

I have windowblinds, but it is a trial version which is about to run out. Can't seem to find a freeware alternative...

I doubt it. I'm also not so sure whether the multipatcher works for vista...and whether the uxtheme.dll in vista even needs patching.

WindowblindsXP themes are mostly compatible and should work.
But XP visual styles are not compatible with Vista.

I ported Royale Vista to windowblinds but I still need to update it with a full Vista port though...

You can edit the theme yourself to do that... but by having the right click menu dark will conflict with windows programs.

umm... conflict? u mean the font colours? or am i missing the plot again?

font colors and most programs are are designed to be used with a light menu.
